Safety is a Part of Everything We Do

We understand that a focus on safety is crucial to the success of your business. It reins in costs, reduces risk, increases productivity, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. At Suburban, a commitment to safety touches all of our services, whether it’s minor facilities repairs, routine janitorial work, or heavy machinery operations inside power plants. Our proven safety programs are considered some of the strongest in the industry and help ensure the well being of our clients, their employees, and their customers.

All new employees complete hands-on occupational safety training specific to the tasks that they’ll be performing—everything from basic office cleaning techniques to hazardous materials handling—while our industrial services teams are specially qualified and trained to operate heavy equipment. The Suburban safety management team holds quarterly reviews, and ongoing refresher training is conducted during monthly safety meetings. All employees are medically qualified and trained to use specific personal protective equipment (PPE) for each job, ranging from coveralls and face shields to air-purifying respirators and safety shoes.

A Culture of Safety

But the safety culture at Suburban goes far beyond just training. At every work site, our environmental health and safety manager performs a complete assessment prior to the start of a project and reviews the findings with site supervisors to ensure that work is done correctly and safely. In addition to training, our employees receive routine medical screenings, drug/alcohol testing, and all company drivers undergo third party training and evaluation.

Suburban ensures compliance with the latest Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements for safety and health and holds an A rating from the ISNetWorld and PICS contractor management agencies.
